The Boys' War

Ever wondered why the Civil War is sometimes called the "Boys' War"? Take a look at these photos and you'll see why...


















More than 2,000,000 Federal soldiers were 21 or younger
More than 1,000,000 were 18 or younger
About 800,000 were 17 or younger
About 200,000 were 16 or younger
About 100,000 were 15 or younger
300 were 13 or younger - most of these fifers or drummers, but regularly enrolled, and sometimes combatants
25 were 10 or younger

Sounds quite sad. I am just thankful that MY brothers did not fight at all!

Man... it is so sad how all those boys died to save others from a life of slavery. ( i am totally with you on brothers fighting in the war thing.) *shudder* If that is how you spell that. I dont know and i dont care. Im tired O.K.
