Ahhhh. I'm feeling lazy right now, all curled up in my dad's comfy office chair with rain drumming on the roof. Therefore, I'm not going to go to all the trouble of posting anything long or exciting. I've just been meditating on these verses lately, and I thought I'd share them with ya'll.
1st John 2:15-17 ~ "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world - the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions - is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, and whoever does the will of God abides forever."
Romans 12:2 ~ "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
To me, these verses continue to challenge and encourage me, whenever I am tempted to be "conformed" in any area. And what a comforting statement - "whoever does the will of God abides forever." And not just an abstract existence - we get to spend all of eternity with GOD. Wow. What an awesome thing!
In awe of Him,
Elisabeth~
