Okay, this is a little late in coming, but...WE HAVE A CHURCH BUILDING!!! God is so good to us! I've spent the last several days over there - hanging out with the Hoffman crew - cleaning, painting, etc. I don't know what it is, but there's just something about walking in, taking off your shoes, and grabbing a soda from the fridge that makes it really feel like home. Can't wait to worship there on Sunday! Whoot!
On a more sublime level, I've been thinking on the verse (I can't recall the reference) "I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans to prosper you, and not to harm you." I remember feeling so discouraged the last few times we were going to "get" some land or were looking into a building and the doors just kept closing. I was just like "God, what are you doing here? Don't you want us to have our own building?" Of course he did ... in His own good timing. Besides, a church is not about the building or the numbers - its about glorifying God. Hey, even though I'm ecstatic about this building, I think I'd be happy meeting out in a Kansas cornfield, as long as Mr. Hoffman was still preaching the word and we were still worshipping with all our wonderful friends...
...maybe. :)
In awe of Him,
Elisabeth

I love having a church building, it's so exciting!! :D
That's one of my favorite verses, I find myself looking back on it sometimes, it's really nice to have a promise of God to read. :)
