Family History

My grandma (my mom's mom) came up for a visit yesterday and brought with her some boxes of old photos. Of course, the history-geek in me was thrilled.

This family photo was taken in the 1890s. The back row is my great-great grandpa Thomas Hanna, my great-great uncle Bill Hanna, and my great-great grandma Clair Hanna. The three little girls in the front are my great-great aunts Mary, Annie, and Melley.

This is the Hanna family later in 1918. Back row: Mary, Annie, Bill, Hazel, Melley. Front row: Jim (my grandma's father), Grandma Clair and Grandpa Thomas.

These are the four Hanna sisters: Annie, Mary, Hazel and Melley. You can tell they're a little older than in the last picture, so it was probably taken in the "Roaring 20s." I love how they are still wearing long skirts and have their hair long and pinned up.

This is great-great Uncle Bill. I think he looks like J.F.K.
This is Jim Hanna and his wife Joyce, my great-grandpa and grandma. I love my grandma's calico skirt and sunbonnet.

This is great-great Uncle Bill, his wife, my great-great aunt Pearl, and their son, Rich, in the 1930s.

This is my grandma's brother, my great-uncle J.B. when he was little. I think he's darling. :)

This is my grandma and her brother, Uncle J.B., at the train station.

This is my grandma when she was about five years old, and her cousin Rich. Rich a marine in World War II, and quite handsome. My grandma adored him.

That's my grandma when she was about my age. If you look at the picture close up, she looks so much like Kiera Knightley! Weird, because some people tell me I look like Kiera Knightley. I guess I know where I get it, now. lol. :)

And this is a picture of my grandma when she was young - it's not really a "historical" picture but I think she was beautiful so I posted it. :)

I have more pictures, so I might post the rest sometime next week. Don't count on it, though. I'll probably forget. :)
