Catching Up...

Ok! So its been a while since I've been in the blogosphere. So! First thing's first....

I've been tagged!!! By Stephie. Here's how it works:

Go to your Pictures file
Go to the 5th folder
Open the 5th picture and post it
Tag 5 people when you're done

Yes, I know. It's Picket's Charge. Not surprising, huh? :) And since Stephie already tagged Vivian I'm going to have to think really hard who to tag and I still doubt I'll come up with 5.

Okay. I guess Vivian can do it twice. :) I also tag Ben, Anna, and William. Guess that's 4. Even though nobody will do it. ;)

Now that I have that taken care of...

IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!

For some reason last year I was not really excited about Christmas. This year, I am remembering why I loved it so much when I was little. Not presents, necessarily...for the life of me I can't think of anything I want and my grandma is very aggravated with me (LOL). Seriously, though. I love the SMELL of Christmas. I have baked countless batches of gingerbread cookies already just because I like the smell. Then I end up eating them. Thankfully the doctor thinks I'm underweight so I can eat as much as I want. =D In addition to this, I love Christmas music...I'm either listening to it on the radio or playing on the piano. Christmas decorations rock...yes, I know, "shiny things." lol. And my favorite: church at Christmastime. There is just something about the combination of garland and pews and big red bows that is so old-fashioned and sweet. And out worship team is awesome with the Christmas carols. This week I think I realized for the first time, singing them, how worshipful they are! I bawled the entire worship service and ended up with a pile of soggy, make-uppy kleenexs on the pew. But seriously. God is so good! I love Mr. Hoffman's saying: "You can't separate the cradle from the cross."

Wow this is a really rambling post. I think the cold weather is getting to me...

Merry Christmas everyone! "Hallelujah, Hope has Come!"

A. Post.

I feel like I should post something.

Actually, I don't. I'm just bored and, since I was already on the internet, posting sounded like something to do.

The result of this?

NOTHINGNESS!!!

So this is what happened this week.

MONDAY: I finished - after 2 years of it being pounded into my head - Algebra 1!! I know to some of you who are like...studying Calculus...this is really lame but let me tell you...this is a victory. MAN do I stink at math and MAN am I happy to be done with Algebra. At least for this year. For now it is Geometry and then comes Algebra 2. Ick.

TUESDAY: Barak Obama is elected president. It is really tempting to go off on a tangent here but I won't because...well...why waste a nothingness post on Barak Obama? `Nuff said.

WEDNESDAY: I sat in Derek's office at church and addressed aproximately 60 Christmas cards and 4 birthday cards. (By the way if you think my room is messy you should see Derek's office. It was incredible. All I had to do was stack a few books on top of each other and he could tell I had "straightened up" for him. Wow.)

THURSDAY: Matthew has a stomach bug and thus, I have nothing to do, so I start a new novel. It has to do with Robert E. Lee's family plus the Custis/Washington family...Arlington House...and a family secret that could have possibly changed history and the outcome of the Civil War but didn't because I invented it...bwahaha....

FRIDAY: A remarkable day in history. NOTHING HAPPENED.

SATURDAY: Played the Wii for the first time in the 2 years we have had it and proved my self to be the 2nd worst player in the living room (Ben coming in 1st). Went to work and made aproximately 30 thousand milkshakes (half of them ending up on me) and listened to Joel sing "I'm dreaming of a white Thanksgiving." Goodness I love working there. :)

TODAY: Had a pretty much amazing time in the Nursery at church. It is way too much fun to be in there with Ben and those little kids. The combination is just...well...anyway. I love it. :) Then the Sharps came over after church and we ate. Alot. Of food. That was fun, too. :)

So that was my week. I have no doubt that you are all the more edified by my accound of it.

And since I can't think of any clever ways to end this post I will just say "GOODBYE."

A New Post

This blog has been boring lately. It is def. time for a nothing post.
Sooo...to begin with, we had our girls' lock-in on Tuesday. We pretty much had an amazing time. I wish I had taken more pictures, but I was too busy being slaphappy. :( So for pictures, check out Viv's blog. Our time was pretty uneventful...unless you count the fire alarm going off, the bounce-house deflating with us inside, and the fact that we had to use an origami-paper-plate as a spatula for the pancakes. Yup. Uh-huh.
So far, this isn't really a nothing post. Because I'm writing about something. In fact, I'm always writing about something, because even if I'm writing about nothing its something. Hmm. Even nothing is something. I am feeling very philosophical today. :)
Oh yeah! I almost forgot...today is a Mr. Smith day. :D I'm sure his philosophical reflections shall be a great asset to this nothingness. (Though, alas, I do not have a picture to post with it today. The reason has to do with my poor, sad computor.)
Reflections from the life and times of Mr. Smith. Star date 5267. Captain’s log, Captain Smith recording. Today I was watching my favorite series on TV, Star Trek. Suddenly I felt compelled to be beamed up. I whipped out my communicator (my wallet) and spoke to it: Beam me up, Scotty. A strange thing happened. Nothing. Except for, all my money fell out. My dog chewed up my money. I decided to go see how my neighbor’s cat was doing. And suddenly I realized, I’d forgotten to let it back in. (Refer to above above entry.) I, Mr. Smith, felt compelled to see the world. To travel to strange places, and seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no bum has gone before. Then suddenly I realized, there are bums everywhere. I decided to just stick with going places where I have never gone before. Ah, life. Doesn’t it make you reflect? Life is so simple.
Thus ends this week’s reflections. And then my mirror image disappeared.
Wow. I was just realizing how much "Mr. Smith" and "Nothing Posts" resemble one another. Both are extremely random. Benjamin, dear, as much as this might frighten you, I think our minds are very much alike. And don't worry...I'm sure this scares me as much as it scares you.
*ahem*...moving on...
So! Last night we went to the H's. We girls watched the movie Emma. I know many males judge this movie and immediatly put it in the "M" catagory. (You know: mushy, matchmaker, melodrama.) But the problem is, they do this without watching it. Emma is a unique heroine. Why, you ask? Because she isn't perfect! Like normal people, she has her faults, and this in turn makes her story endearing because we can relate. And its not one of those annoying story lines where its like "girl sees guy. Girl can't stop thinking about guy even though she's only set eyes on him once." Or, another favorite: "Girl likes guy, but for-some-weird-reason she acts like she hates him and this is the entire story." Even though I bemoan the fact that Mr. Knightley is sixteen years older than Emma, they have a very sweet, straightforward relationship before they fall in love.
As for guys in movies...I have a very hard time with them. Meaning, I am extremely critical. For example: Mr. Elton has big teeth, Frank Churchill has bad hair, Mr. Knightley is too short, John Thornton's nose is too long, Colonel Brandon is too old, Edward Ferris is too plain, and Mr. Darcy (in the 1995 BBC version) is just plain greasy. (And furthermore, I know, that when Jane Austin wrote Pride and Prejudice, she did not mean Mr. Darcy to have curly hair.) I guess the Mr. Darcy in the newest version is pretty much perfect, except that his sideburns are a little too big.
Maybe I'll never marry.
Oh dear. This is getting to be a very long nothing post. I'd better go now...

A Nothing Post

I'm afraid I've been forced into a nothingness post. Well, not forced, really. I just don't like to go so long without posting that I have to post, even if it's nothing.
Last time I did a nothingness post, it eventually made me think of something to post. Unfortunatly, my brain is very blank right now. Not a good sign, I'm sure. In fact, it's beginning to look like I'm going to go on like this for a long time. *heavy sigh* .................................................
.......................................................mmmkay....................................wow......................nope,still nothing................................
My computor has been very dumb lately. It thinks it has a virus. But it doesn't. Every time I open up one of my Word documents, it flashes up a little window that says "this file is still infected. Do you want to delete this file?" Well, not really. So I close out the program, click on my Norton icon, and start the second virus scan of the day. A total...like, complete scan of your entire computor - including all files, documents, discs, drives etc. - takes about 1 and 1/2 hours. So when its done I come back and click on my "report card". It always, without fail, reads: "Files Scanned: 101389 [not an exaggeration. I just read my report card.] Files Infected: 0. Files Repaired: 0. Files Quarantined: 0. Files Deleted: 0." Then I go and open up my document again. No little windows, no musial little warning "beeps." ?????????????
Floppy discs. Why are they called that? Just a thought. If anyone knows, feel free to share.
So now you've heard my sad story. If, of course, you've read this far. At least I found something to write about.
Alas, I have no pictures to post. Even though I went to Wornall yesterday. I showed up with the impression we weren't supposed to be in costume, then found out we were, so I had to borrow a dress from the carriage house. It felt very weird to be without my hoop and petticoats. Espescially since I was wearing jeans and tennis shoes under it. So weird. So now I am dying to go somewhere full costume. Even if its cold. Anyone want to join me?
Hmmmm. Let's see. I was thinking how odd it is that Matthew is going to be thirteen this year. It's like totally freaking me out. But at least he's not taller than me yet...hee hee hee. It's very annoying that I am turning fifteen this year and not sixteen. Fifteen is such a dull birthday. (Unless you have Bolivian ancestry, like you, Steph. ;)) Of course, my dad says I can have a cell-phone when I turn fifteen. It's kind of odd...he is reluctant to allow me to have a cell-phone, yet he constantly talks about me getting my driver's permit. Fact is, I'm scared to death of driving. I would totally booger every thing up. Can you imagine? Well actually, don't. Plus, all I'd have to practice with is the mini-van. I'm sure there's no way my dad would let me drive his highlander...(or, as Abby calls it, the "high-lighter.") lol.
What a dull post. This wasn't as good as most of my nothingness posts. I think I'll be quiet, now, anyway. Ta-ta for now.

Don't bother reading this post...

...I have nothing to post at all. Not even any pictures. I just felt like typing something, even if it is nothing. So I mean it. I'll be surprised if you've even read this far.

Okay. This is really pointless. It is nothing. I should really post something meaningful, but I feel very brain-dead. Algebra can do that to you. Hence, I am writing a post about nothing.

The world is very good at nothing. There is a vast amount of nothingness out there on the web. I guess everything has to be something, but things that are so pointless might as well be classified as nothing.

Wow. I am so intellectual. :)

If you want to read something real, go read William's blog. He comes up with some very interesting things.

Oh, wait. I just thought of something to post! I knew that would happen if I typed nothingness for a little while!! =D

Here are some pictures I took of Abby this summer. In her reenacting outfit. (Speaking of which, my new dress should be here by now, but it isn't. *uggghhhhh*)

She is such a drama queen. Ham! :)

You know, there's probably plenty of pictures hidden away in my many photography files that I have never posted. I should post more nothing posts. It makes me remember things.

The end.
